COVID-19 Blockchain Technology Hackathon
Countless middlemen involved between farmer and the consumer. The middlemen reap all the benefits, leaving farmers with lower profits and consumers with higher costs of the production. There is a lack of transparency in the food supply chain. This has resulted in growing malpractices, especially in the food sector. Blockchain will serve as a decentralized storage locker for real time data and crop quality, which can be utilized by farmers as well as their supply chain partner to increase their gains. In challenge 7 COVID-19 hackathon we will learn more about blockchain and how it can apply to agriculture in Africa and beyond. Join us!!!!
